Each year the ISSBA committee selects a charity to support for the year ahead. This year we are delighted to announce that we will be supporting Anglia Care Trust.
Anglia Care Trust (ACT) is the region’s “one-stop shop” charity – supporting thousands of people every year in areas from homelessness to money matters, and community safety to drug and alcohol recovery. We supported more than 7,000 people in the last year alone, many of whom will have used several services under our umbrella – with our unique status as a “one-stop shop” meaning service users will only need to tell their story once, regardless of how many ACT services they need. We have a proud history of more than 50 years based in the heart of the county.
ACT exists to encourage people to achieve their full potential, whatever their circumstances. We do this by adhering to our values of integrity, honesty, trust and respect – empowering individuals, families and neighbourhoods across the region. That mission is the driving force behind every service, which are all delivered by skilled and knowledgeable people united in their efforts to support local people.
Our core strength – and the driving force behind the incredible impact we have – is our staff and volunteers. The lived experiences of applicants are the key area of interest during the recruitment process to ensure all staff are united in their mission to support and empower vulnerable people in need.
By working within the heart of the community, ACT deliver a full spectrum of services to support vulnerable children, young people, adults and families alike. Our staff are our most important asset and, alongside our volunteers, delivering all of our services to people and families who need our support.
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live in their community with support, dignity and purpose and it is vital that people understand the opportunities available for help and reach out.
Jane Simpson, CEO of Anglia Care Trust says, ‘We are very much looking forward to the year ahead as your charity partner, and the opportunity to share and showcase the work we do within the local community and beyond, through your network of contacts and local businesses, and at the events that you host.’
